Electrical engineering and design for commercial buildings
The practice has wide experience in the design and implementation of commercial, retail, industrial, residential and public facility building services and transmission lines up to 50,000 volts.
Building services incorporate electrical, data, telephone, PA and background music, and security services. Electrical design engineers carry out investigation, design, documentation, observation and checking for completion service on all electrical services.
This includes main electrical, standby generation, UPS installation, data, telephone, security, sound, point of sale and MATV services.
The main areas of expertise are hotels, apartment buildings, retail and commercial developments and renovations, insurance investigations and marine surveys.
Past electrical engineering projects
Over the last few years the following projects have been completed:
- Cheese factory at Waharoa.
- Apartment blocks in Wellington, Rotorua and Mount Maunganui.
- The Nautilus building in Orewa.
Design work has been completed for a new twin tower apartment building in Mount Maunganui and a new gymnasium for a school in Hamilton.
A number of hotels have been completed throughout NZ. Clients include Novotel, Ibis and Mercure hotels for ACCOR in Wellington, Hamilton and Auckland.
Design is currently underway for a new Auckland hotel including the renovation of the existing Reserve Bank building and addition of a new 23 storey tower block. Construction has commenced on a Holiday Inn in Albany.
A number of projects have been undertaken in Australia and the Pacific Islands. In Fiji a complete generation and electrical reticulation system for Wakaya Island was carried out.
In Australia, large projects have been undertaken for IKEA with three major stores completed in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane while design work is underway for a further three stores. Each store is upwards of 30,000 m2 in area with parking facilities for 1200 vehicles.
